Again, ESPN's Chris Mortensen is very confident Giants, WR Victor Cruz will get deal done
For the second time in the span of six days, Chris Mortensen's sources are telling him that Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz will sign a long-term contract in the not-too-distant future. It might not happen in the next 10 days, but before training camp seems like a lock, according to Mortensen.
"Everybody I've spoken to expects that deal to absolutely get done, to a 100 percent degree of certainty, that Victor Cruz will have a new contract by the time the Giants open training camp," Mortensen said during Monday's edition of "NFL Live."
The Giants will open training camp on July 26 and hold their first practice on July 27.
OK, so we are no more than four weeks away from a resolution here, right? Let's hope so, because this story is getting annoying. Cruz is still a low-end WR1 and a steal if he falls into the WR2 range.
