Browns news: QB Brandon Weeden excited for TE Jordan Cameron; WR Travis Benjamin likely to start

The Browns need someone to fill in for Josh Gordon while he sits out the first two games of the season due to a suspension. According to Terry Pluto of the Cleveland Plain Dealer, Travis Benjamin @TravisBenjamin3 "will probably start" in Gordon's spot early, joining Greg Little on the outside while Davone Bess lines up in the slot.
But perhaps it will be tight end Jordan Cameron who makes the biggest impact while Gordon is barred. Quarterback Brandon Weeden is looking forward to seeing what his tight end can do this year.
"Jordan is one of the most athletic big guys I've ever been around in any sport," Weeden said Wednesday on NFL Network's "NFL AM" via Marla Ridenour of the Akron Beacon Journal. "He's extremely talented. He's still learning the game essentially; he's a basketball player that has all of the athletic ability in the world and has great hands, great route runner. He creates mismatches; that's what I tell people. You put a corner or you put a safety on Jordan, it's a mismatch and that's what we like to do offensively. I'm excited for Jordan. He's going to be a great player for us. This offense [under Norv Turner] fits him extremely well, obviously seeing what they did with Antonio Gates in San Diego. It's got to be exciting for him and I know it's exciting for me to throw it to a guy like that because he has big-play capability and I'm excited to see what kind of year he has."

Fantasy Analysis:

Benjamin has big-play ability, but he won't be worth a spot on many fantasy teams. When Gordon returns, Benjamin will probably be at least fourth or fifth in the pecking order of Browns receivers.
On the other hand, I can't stop talking about Cameron. I have documented my love for him here before. He is currently the 19th tight end off the board at Fantasy Football Calculator, which I think is way too low, but it does give him outstanding value in drafts. With his talent, his strong-armed QB, his coaches, and his opportunity, the sky's the limit for Cameron.
