I thought we were going to have to wait until Wednesday to find out whether or not Robert Griffin would be practicing on the first day of Redskins camp this week. Apparently, Monday held the moment of truth, and Griffin reported some good news via Twitter.
"Doctors cleared me to practice," Griffin wrote. "Coach is going to ease me in. Thank you for your support & See you in Richmond."
Griffin underwent surgery to fix two torn ligaments in his right knee less than seven months ago. All in all, it's another incredible comeback for an athlete from ACL surgery. It's a testament to good genes as well as major advances in medical science. The comeback isn't over for Griffin as he still needs to prove he can run and cut and do everything necessary during game action. But this is a big step. I expect to see RG3's average draft position jump, possibly into the top five at quarterback.
