UPDATE: Patriots place TEs Rob Gronkowski, Jake Ballard, WR Julian Edelman on camp PUP list

Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski @RobGronkowski will begin training camp on the Physically Unable to Perform list. Of course. He might not come off it before the regular season. But it's newsworthy that he has been joined by a couple of teammates: tight end Jake Ballard @TheJakeBallard and wide receiver Julian Edelman @Edelman11.
Ballard is still trying to recover from two major knee surgeries about 17 months ago. He reportedly looked hampered during offseason minicamps.
Edelman suffered a setback with his broken right foot in May, but he is making progress. There is a thought that he could be the Patriots' No. 2 wide receiver if he can get healthy.

--------------------------------------------

Update: Ballard was activated from the PUP list on Tuesday.

Fantasy Analysis:

I was all aboard the spacious Ballard bandwagon a couple of months ago, but reports on his left knee have gone from positive to worrisome. He was once a fantasy sleeper; now that's completely on hold.
Edelman is the closest to 100 percent among this group. He should be able to come off the PUP soon, and he is someone to target late in deep drafts. As long as Edelman stands a chance of being Tom Brady's second option, he has fantasy value.
