Welcome back: WR Braylon Edwards signs with Jets

Braylon Edwards is 30 years old. He played in 22 games over the past two seasons and registered a combined total of 33 catches for 380 yards. But on the Jets, he'll probably start. Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News reports that Edwards has signed a one-year deal with the Jets. He played for them from 2009-10 and in 2012.

Fantasy Analysis:

He caught 10 passes in three games last year with the Jets after being cut by the Seahawks in December. I assume Edwards hasn't gotten any shorter, so his six-foot-three-inch frame could be a goal-line target for Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith. But he isn't worth a flier in fantasy. Yet, because Santonio Holmes is out indefinitely, and Stephen Hill is the team's next best wideout, Edwards has a chance to log considerable playing time. It's not an ideal situation, but such is the state of the Jets' receiving corps.
