Seahawks HC Pete Carroll: WR Percy Harvin is out for season ... if he needs surgery

An update on Percy Harvin @Percy_Harvin's hip: USA Today's Tom Pelissero spoke with Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll on Friday, and Carroll made Harvin's situation very black and white.
"If you have hip surgery, it's a lot longer than the season," Carroll said. "Hip surgery, he's not going to play for the season."
The truth will be known Tuesday when Harvin undergoes another MRI. Per Pelissero, the Seahawks "don't believe" Harvin will need surgery. His hip has been giving him trouble since organized team activities in the spring.

Fantasy Analysis:

So, that's a bit of good news. A complete tear of the hip labrum means at least four-to-six months of recovery. If the labrum isn't torn, Harvin would likely be iffy for the start of the regular season, but he would be able to play at some point. But hey, I'm not a doctor and neither is Carroll. A lot could still happen here. Those drafting their fantasy teams this weekend need to drop Harvin's name way down their rankings.
