Seahawks WR Sidney Rice is in Switzerland getting 'some sort of knee treatment'

While the Seahawks are still awaiting word on what is wrong with Percy Harvin's hip, another one of their starting receivers is out of the country dealing with his own medical issue.
Wide receiver Sidney Rice @sidneyrice wasn't at Seahawks practice today, and head coach Pete Carroll said that's because Rice is currently in Switzerland getting "some sort of knee treatment." Via Liz Mathews of ESPN Radio 710 in Seattle, Carroll said Rice will be back with "fresh legs" and in time to play in all preseason games. The Seahawks' first preseason game is on Aug. 8.

Fantasy Analysis:

Rice was bothered by a knee injury late in the regular season and in the postseason last year, but the team never gave an explanation as to what was going on. If Carroll's word is true, and Rice returns to play in the first preseason game, this won't be much of a story. If Harvin needs season-ending hip surgery, RIce's fantasy value would go up slightly, but he's just a low-end WR3.
It's just speculation on my part, but perhaps this treatment is related to the platelet-rich plasma therapy that many athletes from different sports have been undergoing in Germany recently. Hopefully there will soon be more information on Rice's knee than there was at the end of last season.
