49ers WR Quinton Patton has broken finger

49ers wide receiver Quinton Patton has been limited to non-contact drills in practice because of a broken finger. It's unknown when Patton suffered the injury or for how long he will be held without contact. The fourth-round rookie is competing against A.J. Jenkins, Ricardo Lockette and others for a starting job.

Fantasy Analysis:

If this was the regular season, I assume that Patton would tape that finger up and get back out there, much like how Dez Bryant did last season. But since it's not even August, the 49ers will probably be patient with him. It's a tough development for Patton, who needs all the reps he can handle to prove he belongs in the starting lineup. I have said before that he is my choice to step up the most among the team's young, inexperienced wideouts, but he probably isn't worth drafting in most leagues.
