WR Sidney Rice returns to Seahawks after non-surgical procedure

We still don't quite know what Seahawks wide receiver Sidney Rice @sidneyrice was doing with his ailing knee over in Switzerland, but he is back with his team. Head coach Pete Carroll said earlier this week that Rice was overseas for some sort of non-surgical procedure on his knee. Now that he has returned, Rice will be evaluated by team doctors, and a plan to get him back on the practice field will be put forth. However, Rice isn't expected to miss any of Seattle's preseason games, the first of which is on Aug. 8.

Fantasy Analysis:

I assume we will know more about exactly what Rice's knee underwent in time, but this seems like the end to this story for now. Golden Tate @ShowtimeTate has reportedly been very impressive in training camp; the Sehawks desperately need to keep Rice healthy so he can be a dependable No. 2 WR. But he is more valuable to the Seahawks than he is in fantasy football. He had the second-best season of his six-year career in 2012, but he caught just 50 passes for 748 yards and seven touchdowns in a full season. Even without Percy Harvin, Rice is a WR4 at most.

I like Golden Tate a lot this year, don't be shy to grab him - we will be updating our rankings for him this week. www.fantasyfballchamps.com
