Steelers WR Plaxico Burress needs shoulder surgery, season probably over
Steelers wide receiver Plaxico Burress will turn 36 years old next week. It's somewhat amazing that he is still on an NFL team's active roster at that age, but perhaps Father Time has finally done him in. Burress suffered a torn rotator cuff in his right shoulder during Thursday's practice and will have surgery Monday. The injury is expected to keep him out for the entire season.
Burress is a big name, but he was a very small contributor to the Steelers last season, catching three passes in four games. His role wasn't about to expand this season, and he wasn't a fantasy asset. Antonio Brown , Emmanuel Sanders and Markus Wheaton are Pittsburgh's top three wide receivers. Brown is a low-end WR2.
