Bengals WR Andrew Hawkins might miss half of the season

If you missed the premiere episode of HBO's "Hard Knocks" last week, you misspent one hour of your life. But part of the show that was OK to skip was the visual of a Bengals teammate accidentally stepping on wide receiver Andrew Hawkins @YoungBabyHawk' left ankle. It was initially reported that Hawkins would be out for a few weeks and possibly miss Week 1. But head coach Marvin Lewis presented a much more discouraging timetable on Saturday. He said Hawkins is a candidate to begin the season on the injured reserve, designated to return. That would force Hawkins to miss at least eight weeks once the season gets underway.

Fantasy Analysis:

I don't think Hawkins' specific diagnosis has been released, but he was placed in a cast recently. The pint-sized receiver is a big-play threat, but he's off the fantasy radar for the foreseeable future, perhaps for the entire season.
