Report: Chargers 'fear' WR Malcom Floyd tore right ACL on Monday

The Chargers might have lost their No. 1 and No. 2 wide receivers in less than a week. Six days after Danario Alexander was lost for the year with a torn right ACL, the Chargers "fear" that the exact same injury struck wide receiver Malcom Floyd on Monday. That report comes from ESPN's Adam Schefter. Floyd went down during the day's practice and reportedly stayed down for several minutes before his teammates huddled around him in prayer. Floyd was then carted off the field. Schefter also reports that Floyd is undergoing an MRI tonight; his status should be confirmed soon.

Fantasy Analysis:

Holy moly. As much as I love Vincent Brown @VincentBrown86 this year, I don't think anyone is ready, including Brown probably, for him to be Philip Rivers' top wide receiver this year. But with Floyd apparently down for the count, the Chargers' top wide receivers are Brown, rookie Keenan Allen, Robert Meachem (!!!!), and Eddie Royal. Just because of presumed opportunity, I think you have to bump up the draft stocks of Brown, Allen, and tight end Antonio Gates @AntonioGates85. But the Chargers' passing game will be much easier to defend without Alexander and Floyd stretching the field. I want nothing to do with Rivers right now. And much like when the Eagles lost Jeremy Maclin, and the Ravens lost Dennis Pitta, these injuries for San Diego could mean more receptions for a running back. Not Ryan Mathews, but Danny Woodhead @danny__woodhead, specifically.
