Deep breath, San Diego: Chargers WR Malcom Floyd has knee strain, no ACL tear

After the Chargers feared the worst for wide receiver Malcom Floyd, tests on his right knee have given them just about the best they could have hoped for. A team spokesman tells Michael Gehlken of U-T San Diego that Floyd has a strained knee. He will undergo more tests Tuesday, but it appears that an ACL tear is out of the picture.

Fantasy Analysis:

Unbelievable. Floyd is not an elite player. He's a WR4 or WR5 in fantasy. But after the Chargers saw Danario Alexander tear his ACL last week, losing Floyd would have been a massive blow to this offense. Now it sounds like he could miss just couple of weeks. We will know more tomorrow. For now, I don't know what else you can say other than "whew." And after all of the major injuries that have taken down so many good players in the past few weeks, we were due for a fortunate break.
