Texans RB Arian Foster still dealing with back tightness

The good news is it seems like Texans running back Arian Foster @ArianFoster is no longer being bothered by a calf strain that he dealt with since May. The bad news is he is not quite out of the woods when it comes to nagging injuries. Head coach Gary Kubiak said Tuesday that Foster is still dealing with back tightness and there is no timetable set for when he will come off the Physically Unable to Perform list. Foster has yet to practice in training camp. However, according to the Houston Chronicle's Stephanie Stradley, Kubiak doesn't seem overly concerned about Foster's physical state.

Fantasy Analysis:

Foster may be fine, as Kubiak says. If we were in September, I think he would play through the back tightness without a second thought. There's no doubt the team is being ultra-conservative with its franchise back. But Foster's summer has been one bad omen. These injuries aren't severe, but maybe they are foreshadowing Foster's upcoming season. He took on more than 1,100 touches over the past three seasons, and perhaps his body is starting to tap out.
Whatever the case, Foster is sliding a bit in drafts. He used to be a no-brainer at No. 2 overall. But he has fallen to fourth on average, and I could argue that is still a little too high.
In related news, you should be getting your hands on Ben Tate @BenTateRB as an RB4.
