Browns HC Rob Chudzinski says QB competition is 'still close'
Browns head coach Rob Chudzinski seems to be taking a page out of Mike Sherman's playbook, declaring a camp competition that catches everyone off guard.
Chudzinski said Tuesday that the quarterback competition containing Brandon Weeden , Jason Campbell and Brian Hoyer is "still close."
Whatever. Not only is Weeden the heavy favorite to be the Week 1 starter, he was outstanding in the preseason opener versus the Rams, looking very comfortable with Norv Turner's offense. He will probably go undrafted in most leagues, but with Trent Richardson, Josh Gordon, Jordan Cameron, and Greg Little as his weapons, I think the strong-armed Weeden has a chance to breakout with Cleveland's down-the-field passing scheme.
