Report: Redskins QB Robert Griffin III playing in Week 1 hasn't been decided
Does Redskins quarterback Robert Griffin III want to play in Week 1? Yes. Will he? I think so. But a source with knowledge of the situation has told Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio that the team hasn't made a decision to that end, and any assumption that Griffin will be out there against the Eagles on Sept. 9 is "premature."
Griffin will not play in any preseason games, but the source acknowledges that he remains on track to play in the regular-season opener.
Head coach Mike Shanahan has been very cautious when speaking on RGIII throughout this process, so it's completely understandable that he would stay that way until we get closer to the season. While it may be "premature," I would be shocked if Griffin is not starting against the Eagles. But why not keep them guessing, right?
