Browns RB Montario Hardesty suffers dislocated thumb
We know Browns running back Trent Richardson will play Thursday versus the Lions, but Montario Hardesty won't follow him. The backup running back has been ruled out for the game after dislocating his right thumb during Monday's practice. Hardesty was back at practice on Tuesday, going through individual drills with padding on top of the digit.
It's not a long-term injury for Hardesty, but I think it gives Dion Lewis a big lead in the competition to be Richardson's direct replacement. That player is someone to remember given the number of injuries Richardson has picked up during his first 15 months in the NFL. Hardesty may not make it past final cuts.
