TE Zach Sudfeld stepping up for Patriots

The Patriots' offense contains plenty of new faces this year. Of course, as long as Tom Brady is around, it looks like those new guys will fit in just fine. The tight end position is in a great state of flux, but rookie Zach Sudfeld is learning quickly and might be a major factor right away. Here's what Jeff Howe of the Boston Herald wrote about the 6-foot-7 Sudfeld on Saturday:
"Sudfeld is listed at 225 pounds, so he's hardly cut from the same cloth as Rob Gronkowski @RobGronkowski. Yet, Sudfeld's receiving ability should put him in a position to succeed in an Aaron Hernandez type of role, and Sudfeld has even improved enough as a blocker to earn more chances to stay on the field in one-tight end formations."

Fantasy Analysis:

Sudfeld is listed at 260 pounds on the Patriots' website, so I don't know what Howe is looking at.
Sudfeld caught a touchdown pass and a two-point conversion in Friday's preseason game against Tampa Bay. But more importantly, he has been playing with Brady and the first-team offense almost exclusively in practice and looks to be in line for some early starts if Rob Gronkowski needs more time to recover from back and forearm surgeries. That puts him on the TE1 radar in this offense even though he should be drated as a TE2. But even when Gronk returns, Sudfeld will definitely be worth owning if he slides into an "Aaron Hernandez type of role." Pounce on him before his ADP skyrockets.
