Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski will avoid PUP list

The New England Patriots have yet to make an official decision; however all reports coming from the franchise suggest that tight end Rob Gronkowski @RobGronkowski will not be placed on the physically unable to perform list. Hitting the PUP list would automatically disqualify him for the first six weeks of the season. There is not yet a definite timetable for his return, but it was recently reported that Gronkowski might return in late September.

Fantasy Analysis:

With fantasy owners typically jumping on Gronk as the No. 2 fantasy tight end, this is great news after a long offseason of speculation, surgeries and plenty of drama in Foxboro. Many reports indicate the Pats are looking at a Week 3 return. Given his dominance when healthy, Gronk still makes sense as a late-third or fourth round pick across standard or PPR formats. While he is out, take a chance on backup TE Zach Sudfeld if he is still available in your league.
