Packers FB John Kuhn taking over 3rd down role?

With DuJuan Harris lost for the season, the Packers are at a loss over which if their running backs will take over as the third-down option. The plugged-in Bob McGinn with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel believes the job won't fall to any of the new guys, but old reliable fullback John Kuhn. "But come next Sunday in San Francisco," McGinn writes, "don't be a bit surprised if the slowest runner yet easily the best pass blocker of the group is lined up next to Aaron Rodgers as the Packers' third-down back."

Fantasy Analysis:

Ideally rookie Johnathan Franklin @JFrank2308 would step into this role, but he had an "awful night in pass protection Thursday in Kansas City." Veterans James Starks and Alex Green remain in the mix, but are uninteresting choices. Green might not even make the final roster. McGinn considers WR Randall Cobb a "wild card," but also notes he has tons of responsibilities elsewhere. Same can be said for starting RB Eddie Lacy, the only Green Bay runner worth owning. Actually, Franklin is worth a late round flyer. Even if Kuhn takes over the third down role, he'll be more blocker than pass catcher and lacks the kind of upside fantasy owners should seek.
