RB Ronnie Hillman will enter Week 1 as leader of Broncos' backfield committee
Ronnie Hillman averaged 3.8 yards per carry and fumbled three times during the preseason. So I don't know if you can say he won the training-camp competition to be the Broncos' starting running back; he just didn't lose it. The Broncos released their official depth chart for Week 1 on Saturday, and it shows Hillman atop the depth chart, followed by Montee Ball and then Knowshon Moreno to finish out the top three.
Offensive coordinator Adam Gase has made it very clear that all three will be involved to some extent. While Hillman may get the most work early on, another fumble could cost him dearly. Ball, even as a No. 2 RB, should see plenty of chances for short touchdowns, and he remains the most valuable fantasy asset of the bunch. However, I can't endorse anyone here as anything more than a low-end RB2. I'd much rather own the rookie as an RB3 or flex.
