We will know by Wednesday if E.J. Manuel or Jeff Tuel will be Bills' starting QB in Week 1
There are signs that E.J. Manuel could be healthy enough to start for the Bills in Week 1 against the Patriots. But head coach Doug Marrone said a decision won't be made to that end until Wednesday. Marrone said Sunday that Manuel looked good as he returned to individual drills during the day's practice. He said Manuel is ahead of schedule in the rehab from minor knee surgery two weeks ago.
Manuel said he has no soreness in the knee, and wide receiver Stevie Johnson said Manuel "moved fluidly" during the session. If Manuel can't go, Jeff Tuel will become the first undrafted free-agent rookie to start a season-opening game since at least the NFL-AFL merger in 1970.
Manuel will give the Bills more hope of beating the Patriots than Tuel, but he isn't a recommended fantasy play. He's a very deep QB2. The Patriots' defense, on the other hand, is a very solid start.
