Saints re-sign WR Robert Meachem

Robert Meachem's year away from the New Orleans Saints might as well have been a year off for the San Diego Chargers. And now Meachem is back in the Big Easy. The Saints have re-signed him to a one-year deal, according to ESPN's Bill Williamson. Meachem caught 14 passes in 15 games with the Chargers last year after spending four seasons with the Saints.

Fantasy Analysis:

Three of those seasons were relatively productive as Meachem averaged 43 catches, 660 yards and about seven touchdowns per year from 2009-11. But that was Meachem at his best, when he was a valuable field-stretcher for the Saints. They are in need of that type of player now, but it's highly doubtful that Meachem will be able to provide with his "broken down" body. Marques Colston @MarquesColston, Jimmy Graham @TheJimmyGraham, Darren Sproles @DarrenSproles, Lance Moore @LanceMoore16, and probably Kenny Stills are all ahead of Meachem in the pass-catching pecking order. Feel free to ignore him.
