Jets RB Bilal Powell, WR Santonio Holmes listed as Week 1 starters

Just a about month ago, we were talking about Chris Ivory @ivory_29's desire to be a three-down running back, and the possibility that Santonio Holmes @ToneTime10 could miss at least the first four weeks of the regular season. Well, the regular season is nigh, and things have changed. For one, it is Bilal Powell who is listed atop the Jets' depth chart at running back. Ivory is second.
Holmes is also listed as a starter for Sunday's game against the Buccaneers. He is coming off of a severe Lisfranc fracture and foot surgery.

Fantasy Analysis:

Ivory battled a hamstring injury for most of training camp, but he should be the Jets' lead runner in time. It seems like head coach Rex Ryan will begin the season with a backfield committee. Oh, boy.
You might forget that Holmes was pretty good even with Mark Sanchez @Mark_Sanchez under center last year. He caught 16 passes for 243 yards and a score in three games before suffering his foot injury in Week 4. I don't know what he'll do with Geno Smith @GenoSmith_12, but Holmes should be his No. 1 target. Holmes is available in a lot of leagues and doesn't hold much value right now, but he bears watching.

I refuse to listen to "Experts" about this sort of thing. Take it from a guy who has won the championship more often then not...Look for guys with talent and draft them. Powell was the best RB on the team last year when he played and still is now with all the shuffling going on. I drafted him last week. Last year, I picked up Alfred Morris before week 1 started and they announced him as a starter. Just watch players play and forget about what you read. These chumps are streamline media that are retroactive fantasy columnist. ESPN, Yahoo, Fantasy Toolbox . You name it...all they do is report news, not give you inside info. I'm ready to see Jon Baldwin make a move in SF. He's a big talented doo

I feel like I need a nap and a tetanus shot after reading that comment.

But if a Jets player is on my fantasy squad then something has gone terribly wrong.

Translation: I refuse to listen to "experts"... take it from an "expert". That guy is pretty humble... Also, IMO, the sleeper WR in SF in Quinton Patton, not Baldwin, but only time will tell.

But in all honesty, if you're starting Bilal Powell against TB, you're most likely in trouble at RB. Good luck, but I trust Jets players about as far as I can throw them.

hahahahahaha you cant be serious. baldwin was lucky to make the team and only did so because it cost to much to cut him(dead cap money). the guys got the physical attributes but that isnt translating to the field.

I wouldn't listen to drum_24 if my life depended on it with that Baldwin statement.

One, you may not like to listen to the "experts," but thank you for reading FFToolbox.

Two, let's not compare Morris to Powell. Morris surprised everyone as a rookie, but he's a perfect fit for the Redskins' scheme and is also clearly talented.
Powell, we know what he is. He's been around for a couple of years, and he is a so-so talent. It's pretty easy to see that when you watch him play. If you're looking for talent, you can find it in many players other than Bilal Powell.
