Broncos RB Montee Ball still trying to get a handle on pass protection

The Broncos want Montee Ball to be their lead running back; that's why they took him in the second round of April's draft.
Fantasy owners want Montee Ball to be Denver's lead running back; that's why they consistently drafted him as an RB2 this summer.
But according to FOX Sports' Mike Garafolo, Ball won't get the majority of the carries until he improves his blocking. Sources have told Garafolo that all three of the Broncos' top runners -- Ball, Ronnie Hillman @MrHillman2U, and Knowshon Moreno @knowshonmoreno -- will play Thursday against the Ravens as part of a committee, and Moreno may end up starting because he is a skilled blocker.
Ball said pass protection is something he never did in high school and sparingly at the University of Wisconsin.
""My problem is I'm coming from Wisconsin, a power school, and I had 900 carries in four years," Ball said. "Whenever I was out on the field, I was getting the ball a majority of the time. But with this offense and No. 18..."
Ball didn't finished that sentence. He just exhaled.

Fantasy Analysis:

Yes, it's all about keeping No. 18 upright. Until Ball proves he can do that on a consistent basis, his fantasy value will be capped as a flex option with considerable touchdown potential. Hillman and Moreno are merely flex plays for Thursday, too. I would give this ground attack a game or two to play itself out a little bit.
