Texans want a more even split of carries between RBs Arian Foster, Ben Tate

Texans head coach Gary Kubiak said entering Week 1 that he planned for a near-equal rotation between running backs Arian Foster @ArianFoster and Ben Tate @BenTateRB. That's not exactly what happened. Foster was on the field for 55 plays and had 24 touches against the Chargers. Tate saw 20 plays and 11 touches. Kubiak said Tuesday that he wished the numbers were a "little more closer to even," and that will be his aim Sunday against the Titans.
"I want to keep it somewhat close right now and watch them working to see what's going on," Kubiak said.

Fantasy Analysis:

The Titans shut down the Steelers' running game last week, but that can be put on the Steelers' injured and subpar offensive line and lack of talented runners. I thought Tate looked a little more spry on Monday night, but you can chalk that up to so much inactivity for Foster since May. He looked fine, still gained 90 yards from scrimmage and came away healthy. Even if this is a 50-50 split, Foster is still a fine RB1 start this weekend, and Tate remains a stellar flex option or low-end RB2. He rushed for 55 yards on just nine carries Monday.
