49ers TE Vernon Davis says there is no reason to worry about his hamstring injury
49ers tight end Vernon Davis strained a hamstring during the fourth quarter of Sunday night's laugher against the Seahawks. Hamstring injuries have been known to nag for weeks, but Davis told his fans via Twitter on late Tuesday night that he will be just fine.
"No need to worry y'all," Davis wrote. "My leg is feeling great just need a little rest til kickoff according to the docs."
The rest continued into Wednesday when Davis didn't practice. Much like Andre Johnson and Larry Fitzgerald, Davis' practice reps will be sacrificed if it helps him heal quicker and get on the field Sunday versus the Colts. I expect Davis, Colin Kaepernick and the Niners to be on a mission in Week 3 to emphatically wash away the ugly taste that their last game left in their mouths. Davis is a solid start if he plays.
