49ers TE Vernon Davis noncommittal on Week 3 status

Vernon Davis @VernonDavis85, who is currently nursing a hamstring strain, was the only 49ers player to not practice Friday. All he did during the day was work with a trainer on side field. In fact, Davis didn't practice at all this week, and he didn't provide the media many clues when asked whether or not he would play Sunday versus the Colts.
"I'm feeling pretty good, sore, bruised up, but that comes with the business, comes with the game," Davis said via Matt Barrows of the Sacramento Bee. "Definitely my focus is on this game. ... We shall see when Sunday comes."
Davis is officially questionable for Week 3.

Fantasy Analysis:

"We shall see when Sunday comes." That doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Davis and the 49ers don't play until the late afternoon, and I think the odds are against him being active. So, I would suggest playing it safe and using another tight end this week unless you have someone such as Martellus Bennett or Coby Fleener @CobyFleener on your roster and can afford to wait for Davis' game availability to become official. Rookie Vance McDonald is Davis' in-house replacement, but even he is dinged up; he's listed as questionable due to an ankle injury.

So the problem I have is I only have V. Davis at tight end right now I need to prepare for the possibility he doesn't play with the game-time decision situation. Would you drop David Wilson or Gio Bernard at this point to pick up a 1 week replacement for Davis? Best TE available at the moment are Fred Davis, Pettigrew , and Sudfeld. Any advice? I already Have A. Morris, J. Bell, and D Murray at RB as well.

Also available is Coby Fleener although not sure how great of a match-up he would be this week.

Don't drop either guy! They have to much potential.

There's not really any TEs worth picking up IMO anyway.

What are the chances of you having to rely on D Murray for a win ? But What are your chances getting a "0" at TE with Davis sitting out and not having a decent TE to pull some points ? I am in the EXACT same boat and just picked up Fleener dropping Streater (Inkury riddled WR Bench with Amendola and Harvin made this a tough choice in 12 TEAM league.) But Fleener is now the starter and had like 9 targets last week with a TD......not taking chances and filling in a For Sure at the TE this weekend.
