Raiders QB Terrelle Pryor not medically cleared Wednesday

Oakland Raiders quarterback Terrelle Pryor @TerrellePryor did not practice Wednesday due to the after effects of a concussion sustained last Monday night. Pryor was jarred on a blow to the head and there is some lingering controversy regarding whether Oakland took the proper steps to check him for concussion symptoms.

Fantasy Analysis:

Pryor has an excellent matchup coming up against Washington. The Skins can't stop anybody right now and would have fits trying to slow down the dual-threat quarterback. If Pryor does not play, Matt Flynn would be the starter. If that were the case, it would negatively impact guys like Darren McFadden @dmcfadden20 and Rod Streater @rodstreater80 since the defense would not have to worry about containing Pryor.

So if he practices Thursday and Friday do you play him? I want to start him over Russell Wilson, but Pryor plays a late game. Do I gamble?

Good question. I picked up Pryor to back up Wilson after I dropped Freeman and have him tentatively starting this week, too. I guess we'll see what his status is Sunday morning.

Does anyone from FFToolbox know enough about the NFL concussion protocol to know if this could be a last-minute, game time decision, or is the protocol structured enough that we'll know sooner? Thanks!

We should have a pretty good idea Friday. If he practices in full, we will be starting on Sunday.
