Detroit Lions all-world wide receiver Calvin Johnson did not practice Wednesday or Thursday in order to rest his injured knee. There has not yet been any news about whether he practiced Friday.
There isn't much hubbub coming from the Detroit local media about Johnson's rest days. It is possible that the Lions simply trust him enough to be good to go on Sundays. Johnson hasn't quite lived up to his own lofty expectations though. Through four games, he has 21 receptions for 312 yards and four TDs. Great stats of course, but he is not fantasy's No. 1 receiver. That distinction belongs to Giants WR Victor Cruz who has a slight edge in receptions and a bigger lead in yardage. As long as Johnson plays, he better be in your starting lineup!
