Patriots RB Brandon Bolden leads backfield with 40 snaps, WRs Thompkins and Edelman lead WRs

The early reports Sunday suggested that New England Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount @L_Blount27 would lead the backfield, but it was RB Brandon Bolden @BB_HulkSmash who outpaced his teammates with 40 snaps to Blount's 22. For New England's receivers, WRs Kenbrell Thompkins and Julian Edelman @Edelman11 finished with 61 and 60 snaps, respectively. WR Aaron Dobson finished third with 39, WR Danny Amendola played 38 snaps and finally, WR Josh Boyce played on just one snap.

Fantasy Analysis:

It should come as a small surprise that Thompkins, Edelman and Dobson all played more snaps than Amendola. This will more than likely change moving forward, but it also speaks very highly of Thompkins for the rest of the season. For the running backs, this is one of those backfields that I personally avoid. Without a clear leader, Bolden is the one back I'd want to own in the short-term. Who knows what happens when Shane Vereen @ShaneVereen34 comes back and this is all might be for naught if Stevan Ridley @StevanRidley ever gets it together.

I still think it's gonna be the Ridley show when gronk comes back. Maybe Brady will smile a little bit when gronk is back. He is so frustrated every game, but they are 4-1. Get Brady cheap right now because when gronk, amendola, and Vereen are back. He will win you playoff games. Hopefully you get there

Vereen is the yguy who you want outta the Pats backfield. I know you will likely only have him for weeks of the regular FF season, but he is what this offense desparately needs and is even more valuable in PPR. If you have an extra bench spot consider adding him asap.

liquorandpoker - I would trade Ridley the second he has a good game. Huge Pats fan here and I called this season as a Ridley dud. Ridley will split carries in run situation with Blount and Bolden and when Vereen gets back it may be Bolden who supplants Ridley on the depth chart or at last in snap count. It is not out of the rhelm of possibilities.
