Falcons TE Tony Gonzalez 'absolutely does NOT' want to be traded

The Falcons are 1-4, four games out in the NFC South and will likely be without their most dynamic offensive weapon for the remainder of the season. Add that to the fact their defense couldn't stop Geno Smith in a must-win on Monday night, and it's easy to say this season is already lost in Atlanta. Tight end Tony Gonzalez @TonyGonzalez88 didn't come out of retirement for this. There are rumors today that the team might look in to trading tight him, and the Chiefs might be in the mix. However, FOX Sports' Jay Glazer talked on Tuesday with Gonzalez, who said he "absolutely does not" want to be dealt; he wants to finish his career with the Falcons.

Fantasy Analysis:

Of course he does. But the Falcons should at least consider what they can possibly get in return for a player who won't be helping them do anything ultimately significant this year and won't be in the league next year. Gonzalez came back because he thought -- as many people did -- the Falcons had a real shot of reaching the Super Bowl. With that dream all but dead, he has to understand that he would have a better chance of reaching his goal with his old team. Kansas City's tight ends have combined for 23 receptions, 241 yards and one touchdown. Gonzalez, even after a slow start, has 33 receptions, 339 yards and three touchdowns this year.

That would be absolutely devastating to Gonzalez's ff value. I've got real bad vibes going forward w/ him on my roster if this kind of non sense talk is going on in ATL.

Haven't I just read that Gonzo would become Ryan's primary target if Jones goes down and White continues with the high ankle sprain? For pure fantasy value, he might be better off being Gronkowski in Atlanta than being Brent Jones in Andy Reid's West Coast offense.

Tony doesn't care about being a big fish in ATL or fantasy value. He wants to win.
