Vikings RB Adrian Peterson's two-year-old son 'severely beaten'

The two-year-old son of Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson is currently hospitalized after being severely beaten by the man dating the mother of the child. Peterson has been away from the team for personal reasons this week and this is more than likely the cause. The child was found unresponsive by emergency responders who arrived on the scene Wednesday. The child suffered severe head injuries. Police addressed the media and said the attacker is 27-year-old Joseph Patterson. He's been charged with aggravated felony assault and battery of an infant. He allegedly struck the mother with a 3-foot long metal construction bar.

Fantasy Analysis:

There's nothing to add here and some things are obviously far more important than fantasy football. A devastating situation to read about from a fan's perspective and our thoughts are with Peterson and his family during this awful ordeal. Peterson is currently back with the team and is scheduled to practice Friday.

This makes me absolutely sick. I have a 2 year old son and if I were in AP's situation, I don't think I could be away from my son while he was in the hospital. Family would override anything in this situation

We can expect him to either not play, or to or the greatest game he has ever played in his life. Recall the game Torrey Smith played after his brother's tragic motorcycle accident.

Don't forget about Favre's amazing game on Monday night after his father passed away the day before. Either way, my thoughts and prayers are with AP and his family whether he plays or not. I do not encourage violence and am a sane, peaceful man, but I really feel the police in that South Dakota jail should unlock the jail cell and turn their backs while the entire Vikings team stands in line and each spend five minutes in the cell with this horrible man.
