Falcons OC wants to give TE Tony Gonzalez the ball even more

Due to the injuries sustained by wide receivers Julio Jones @juliojones_11 and Roddy White @roddywhiteTV, Falcons offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution that he would like to get tight end Tony Gonzalez @TonyGonzalez88 more involved in the offense. "As we evolve into this wide receiver situation, obviously there might be more things up with Tony featured as the No. 1 guy. That's a no-brainer. We'll see how that goes."

Fantasy Analysis:

Behind Harry Douglas @HDouglas83 on the depth chart, things start to get dicey for the Falcons. They have three guys who you've probably never heard of. The biggest name of the bunch is Brian Robiskie, who's been in the league for five years and previously played for Cleveland and Detroit. As for Gonzo, I'm sure he's disappointed he came back this year. The Falcons are toast this year and even if he sees more targets, what's he going to do with them? Gonzalez has become a catch, turn and fall forward type of tight end with no after-the-catch ability. I don't mind starting him, but he's not going to channel his inner-Jimmy Graham or anything.

I'm starting him regardless

Obviously you don't know much about football, Tony has been playing for countless years and defensive coordinators have watched countless tapes to figure out how to defend him. He did not lose any ability, it's the double teams not letting him go anywhere after catch. He is the best TE in NFL history, and finishing as a top 5 TE at his age proved it to be true. And to say " I don't mind starting him, but he's not going to channel his inner-Jimmy Graham or anything." It's really disrespectful for you. Jimmy Graham is a good athlete, but he will never have the same numbers Tony gives you when he turns 37, because you won't see him on the field by then due to his poor conditioning.

Um - I think someone was watching a sandlot pick up game where some kid
was wearing an NFL jersey. Another author to add to my "Do not read" list especially in light of Graham's stellar performance last week (sarcasm intended)....

YAC is less important if you are the number one red zone target every week. He can fall down in the end zone all day as far as I am concerned. It seems to me that volume is going to make up for his perceived lack of burst. I think we should hold off comparing the two TE's until they are both retired anyway. Who knows if he is disappointed? Ask him after he has been retired a few years if he misses the game. Bet he says yes.

I have my opinion, you can have yours. Let's not get all butthurt because I don't think Tony Gonzalez will succeed now that defenses have no other receivers to cover except him.

And Graham has one bad game and suddenly he's a schmuck? C'mon now, what kind of homer for Gonzo are you? Are you Tony Gonzalez??? WHAT'S UP TONY!
