Falcons RB Steven Jackson can't get over his hamstring injury
When Falcons running back Steven Jackson strained his hamstring in Week 2, everyone thought that if he wasn't playing again before the team's bye, he would certainly be playing immediately after it in Week 7. Now that has fallen through, and it sounds like Jackson is out indefinitely. Head coach Mike Smith said Thursday that Jackson's hamstring injury has "lingered," and he still hasn't been cleared to practice.
Linger is something that hamstring injuries are wont to do. It's a tough break for the Falcons and Jackson's fantasy owners. Jason Snelling and Jacquizz Rodgers will once again split the carries out of the backfield. They are risky flex options in standard leagues versus the Buccaneers' tough run defense.
