Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski cleared to play in Week 7, says agent

Since the fantasy community has waited long enough for this specific update, let's get straight into it. "Rob Gronkowski @RobGronkowski has now been cleared by all his doctors to play Sunday in the Jets game," agent Drew Rosenhaus said in a text to multiple media outlets, according to ESPN Boston. Patriots coach Bill Belicheck did not update the tight end's status during his Friday press conference. New England plays the Jets at 1p.m. on Sunday.

Fantasy Analysis:

Gronkowski missed the first six weeks of the season while recovering from multiple forearm surgeries and a back procedure. Reports of tension within the organization have existed because of belief that the Pro Bower could have returned before now. That aside, fantasy owners should simply be happy they are getting their back. Gronkowski has participated in recent practices, but only a limited basis, meaning he could return to the field initially in only a limited role. Monitor FFToolbox for updates heading into the Patriots matchup against the Jets, who allow the 14th most points to fantasy tight ends this season. Those that also own Vernon Davis, Julius Thomas, Tony Gonzalez, Jason Witten, probably Antonio Gates (vs. Jax) and arguably Jordan Cameron can stay with their usual option this week. Everyone else should get Gronk in the lineup barring reports of a truly restrictive snap count. You've waited long enough.

ok. I've got Cameron and Gronk. Who do I start?

Wouldn't be surprised if Belichick sat him for awhile just to make a point.

bandlinme--I have Cameron and Gronk too and may just start them both, one at flex. Cameron's been going south lately.

I have Gronk, Julius Thomas, AND Vernon Davis. Not sure who to sit! Any thoughts?

to HAILskins...I'd play it safe and play Julius Thomas and Vernon Davis until you see what's up with Gronk. You have excellent TEs so you can afford to wait on Gronk another week. According to FFToolbox Stat Matchups, they are both facing fairly tough defenses against TEs.
