Vikings RB Adrian Peterson limited Saturday, probable Week 7

Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson @AdrianPeterson was only a limited practice participant Saturday and the injury report lists him as probable with a hamstring injury. Minnesota travels to MetLife Stadium to face the winless New York Giants. Peterson missed practice Friday, but should absolutely be ready to play Monday night.

Fantasy Analysis:

A columnist named Tom Powers with the Pioneer Press in Minnesota made the argument Minnesota should trade Peterson for as many picks as they can. He referenced the Dallas Cowboys back in 1989 who traded away Herschel Walker for a group of selections that resulted in what became the Dallas dynasty of the '90s. Of course, big trades aren't that common in the NFL, there's maybe one per year outside moves made just before or during the draft. Every player has a value, Peterson included. I tend to agree with this strategy, of course assuming Minnesota got enough in return. RBs are a commodity for winners and those teams might be more willing to trade away their long-term for a short-term gain. In any case, the article sparked a debate for which there is no right answer, only a series of hypotheticals, so that's always fun.

They really should trade A.D. Could be a win/win if done right. He gets to play on a team that is a true contender, and the Vikings get a few key players (QB ?) to make progress towards becoming a contender in the near future. I like it.
