Texans RBs Arian Foster & Ben Tate sit Monday due to injuries

Between Houston Texans running backs Arian Foster @ArianFoster and Ben Tate @BenTateRB, neither player was able to practice Monday. A hamstring injury sidelined Foster and Tate is dealing with multiple broken ribs. Foster was an early exit in Week 7, only rushing four times for 11 yards and unable to play beyond the Texans' first possession. QB Case Keenum @casekeenum7 will start in Week 9. Both backs are currently considered questionable. The only other back on the active roster who could play is Greg Jones @leadblock33.

Fantasy Analysis:

After a 2-0 start, the Texans are losers of five straight games. It wasn't the easiest of schedules (at Baltimore, Seattle, at San Francisco, St. Louis and at Kansas City), but is that really a legit excuse? For a team that wants to get ahead early, lean heavily on the run and protect the football, the exact opposite has been occurring far too often. Foster is toast as far as I'm concerned, the stats aren't that bad, but compared to where he was in years past, this season is a bust for him. Tate, who was hoping to play well in a contract year, is trying to play through broken ribs and struggling mightily. You probably can't sit Foster if you've got him, but you'll probably want to after every game.

As an Andre Johnson owner, this news cuts both ways. Andre should see more targets but Defenses can key on him with the stud RB's limping.
