Bengals WR Marvin Jones played 19 snaps in Week 8

Bengals wide receiver Marvin Jones @MarvinJonesJr terrorized the Jets' defense on Sunday, catching all eight of his targets for 122 yards and four touchdowns. His day was even more remarkable when you consider that he was on the field for only 19 of the Bengals' offensive plays.

Fantasy Analysis:

If you want to be really optimistic, you can say that any receiver targeted on more than 40 percent of his snaps is going to be a fantasy monster. But in reality, this was a freak occurrence, and you shouldn't overspend on Jones. This kind of game should lead to more playing time -- how do you not reward such a dominant, four-score performance? But Cincinnati will likely keep a rotation going at its No. 2 wide receiver spot. Plus, the Bengals will welcome wide receiver Andrew Hawkins @YoungBabyHawk back into game action perhaps as soon as this week. He has missed the entire season thus far due to an ankle injury. Add Jones from your league's market, but consistent production is going to be difficult for him to achieve.

That analysis by Clay on Jones is astounding in that I disagree. I picked Jones up 2 weeks ago, He got me 16 pts scoring in PPR last week. He has 3 TD's before the 4TD's Sunday. Jones is a red zone great play. I understand maybe not spending all the FA money to get. But Jones is at a minimum a #3 WR rest of way. Clay writes like Jones TD's were a freak occurrence. Yes he won't score 4 TD's every week. But C'mon the guy is a TALENT.

Clay is the source (of the snap count info), not the writer of this article. Brian Murphy is the writer.

Hawkins is out this week and Sanu is questionable, which makes Jones another good play this week. If he has another good game, I think that will earn Jones the #2 spot behind Green and make Jones a top 25 WR the rest of the season.
