The Buffalo Bills will likely be without quarterback Thaddeus Lewis in Week 9 after giving him the doubtful tag for Week 9's contest against the Kansas City Chiefs. First-team reps have gone to both QBs Jeff Tuel and Matt Flynn. The Bills are holding out hope Lewis might be able to play, so no official announcement has been made about who will start until Lewis is officially out.
The big takeaway here might be that the Chiefs' defense is once-against a must-start against what will be an already stifled Buffalo offense. Lewis has shown a lot of grittiness in his play by hanging in the pocket to make tough throws and in general, making the most of this chance to start. That said, his numbers aren't all that great and he shouldn't be starting for anyone if you can avoid it. This rib injury does sound serious enough where even if Lewis does play, a hit to his chest would take him out of the game.
