Patriots RB Shane Vereen expected to play Monday, but nothing official yet

People in the know, such as ESPN Boston writers Mike Reiss and Field Yates, expect the Patriots to activate running back Shane Vereen @ShaneVereen34 from short-term injured reserve and have him active for Monday night's game versus the Panthers. The Patriots even have an open roster spot, which seemingly makes the move inevitable.
But it hasn't happened yet.
Vereen has been out since suffering a wrist injury, which required surgery, in Week 1. He gained 159 yards from scrimmage in that game.

Fantasy Analysis:

This is just another reminder that Vereen is a risky flex against the Panthers. Perhaps the matchup isn't as bad as it looks -- the Panthers have actually allowed the fifth-most receiving yards to running backs, and Vereen is a very capable pass-catcher -- but Vereen's workload and snap count are complete mysteries at this point. He may very well be limited.
