Patriots RB Shane Vereen will play against Carolina

According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, the New England Patriots will ease running back Shane Vereen @ShaneVereen34 onto the field against the Carolina Panthers during Monday Night Football. It has now been two full months since Vereen last played back in Week 1 when he touched the ball 21 times for 159 total yards. There are actually conflicting reports circulating about Vereen's potential playing time. Another reporter doesn't agree with Schefter's report..

Fantasy Analysis:

The former Cal runner is a solid flex play in coming weeks, but not this week. He should approach 15 to 20 touches with good yardage. This makes him a quality PPR play to close out the season. It's important to be realistic though. His Week 1 numbers will not be how he performs on a weekly basis. That's probably about as well as he can do since the Pats abandoned RB Stevan Ridley @StevanRidley in that game.
