Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is not a lock to play in Week 12. Head coach Leslie Frazier told reporters he is "cautiously optimistic" he will play at Green Bay. Peterson battled a groin injury last week during the practice week and missed a couple practices then as well. He did not practice Wednesday. If he does not play, RB Toby Gerhart will start.
Peterson didn't look that great last week, rushing for just 65 yards on 21 carries. This is the type of situation that rarely finds a resolution before game-time. Be prepared on Sunday by adding Gerhart if need be. The former Stanford back won't post huge numbers, but he's reliable and can contribute production on all three downs. Peterson is a must-start if he's active.
