Cowboys RB Lance Dunbar out for season due to knee damage
Lance Dunbar 's season got started late due to a preseason foot injury, got put on hold in the middle due to a hamstring strain and will end early due to ligament damage in his left knee. Dunbar confirmed the injury on Friday and said he is out for the season. Dunbar suffered the injury during the Cowboys' win over the Raiders on Thursday.
"It's a tough pill to swallow. I'm hurting right now," Dunbar said via Rainer Sabin of the Dallas Morning News.
Dunbar's season concludes with 150 rushing yards on 30 carries in nine games. Rookie Joseph Randle is now the direct backup to DeMarco Murray .
Frankly, Dunbar looked like a better player than Murray on Thanksgiving. It's a tough break for a kid who is one of the best backup RBs in the league. The extent of the damage in his knee hasn't been announced.
