Broncos WR Wes Welker won't play Thursday

On Wednesday, the Broncos made official what everyone had already assumed: Wide receiver Wes Welker @WesWelker won't play Thursday night versus the Chargers after he suffered a concussion last week. Welker did not participate in any of the Broncos' practices during the abbreviated week. His week 14 concussion was his second of the season.

Fantasy Analysis:

If I had to guess whether Welker will play at the Texans in Week 16, I would say no. The fact that he has suffered multiple concussions in a four-week span, the Broncos will play it ultra-safe with Welker, and they can afford to do that. Outside of must-starts Demaryius Thomas @DemaryiusT, Eric Decker @EricDecker87, and Julius Thomas, tight end Jacob Tamme @JacobTamme played all but one snap after Welker departed last week's game and caught four passes for 47 yards. What's intriguing is that Tamme played all of those snaps out of the slot, acting as Welker's direct replacement. However, while the Chargers' pass defense isn't great, keep in mind that Tamme will probably be fourth or fifth in line for targets. He has some deep-league appeal.
