Giants WR Victor Cruz might be shut down for rest of the year

The Giants were eliminated from playoff contention two weeks ago and are one day removed from an embarrassing 23-0 home loss to the Seahawks. With this season down the drain, the team might play it safe and sideline injured wide receiver Victor Cruz @TeamVic for the rest of the season. Cruz left Sunday's loss during the third quarter because of a concussion and a sprained knee. He finished the day with two catches for 25 yards, and head coach Tom Coughlin said afterwards he "didn't know" if Cruz would play in the final two games.

Fantasy Analysis:

Somehow, Cruz hasn't caught a touchdown since Week 4, and Hakeem Nicks still doesn't have one. If Cruz can't take advantage of two favorable matchups to end the season -- at Detroit and hosting Washington -- I don't think Nicks would get the biggest boost in fantasy. I think Rueben Randle @RuebenRandle would be the better play. But at this point, in your fantasy championship, does it really matter? The Giants' passing game has been a flop all season. Anyone here will be impossible to trust down the stretch, regardless of the opponent.
