Report: Patriots TE Rob Gronkowski told he should be ready by start of next season

If you faced Jamaal Charles (or Justin Tucker) in your semifinals, you might already be looking forward to what could be in 2014. On that note, NFL Network's Albert Breer visited the Patriots today and tweeted out a couple of updates regarding injured tight end Rob Gronkowski @RobGronkowski. Breer said that Gronkowski will undergo surgery to repair the torn ACL and MCL in his right knee in about two weeks, by which time the swelling in his knee should have dissipated. The surgery will be performed by Dr. James Andrews and, most importantly, Breer says Gronkowski has been told "he should be ready for the start of the 2014 season."

Fantasy Analysis:

That's just dandy, but remember when offseason forearm and back surgeries were supposed to keep Gronk off the field for only the first couple of games of this season? He ended up not playing until Week 7. And as Robert Griffin III showed this year, not everyone heals like Adrian Peterson after ACL reconstruction. The fact is Gronkowski will soon be undergoing his sixth surgery since November 2012, and it's a major one. Expect Gronk injury updates to once again fill your spring and summer.
