Buffalo QB EJ Manuel and WR Stevie Johnson out for week 16

According to ESPN.com's Mike Rodak, the Bills will be without quarterback E.J. Manuel @EJManuel3, and wide receiver Stevie Johnson @StevieJohnson13 in their week 16 game against divisional foe, the Miami Dolphins.

Manuel was limited in practice Wednesday due to swelling in his sprained left knee. "We were not able to get that swelling to respond to the treatments the way we wanted," head coach Doug Marrone said. "He was able to throw the ball in the pocket, but the stability in that knee, with the swelling, he does not have the escapability or the ability to run after the fake or zone read or those type of things that we feel is important to us to win."

Thad Lewis will get the start in Manuel's stead.

Johnson, the Bills top wide receiver, has been excused from the team and will miss the week 16 game against Miami due to the death of his mother. Johnson has flown back home to California to be with his family.

Fantasy Analysis:

Manuel is not someone that most people would be looking to if they're still alive in their fantasy playoffs. Johnson, on the other hand, is. He's the Bills number one target in the passing game and was potentially a WR3 or Flex option in fantasy for week 16. WIth Johnson attending to his family matter, WR Robert Woods @robertwoods should be the Bills number one option.

In times like this, not only is football irrelevant. So is fantasy football. The FFToolbox.com team sends our condolences to Johnson & his family.
