Redskins TE Jordan Reed is officially out for the season

We thought this was true last week, but it's for reals this time: Redskins tight end Jordan Reed is done for the year. The team placed him on injured reserve Thursday. Reed hasn't played since Week 11 due to a concussion, and head coach Mike Shanahan said a specialist examined Reed recently and recommended that he not practice for at least three more weeks. Reed's rookie season ends with 45 catches, 499 yards and three touchdowns.

Fantasy Analysis:

Despite playing in just nine games and not really breaking out until Week 7, Reed finished inside the top 20 in yards and catches among tight ends. The 23-year-old has the athleticism and skills to be a major mismatch, and he has already displayed a pretty good chemistry with Robert Griffin III @RGIII. Reed is a great hold in keeper and dynasty leagues who could spend years as a fantasy TE1.
