Redskins TE Jordan Reed is officially out for the season
We thought this was true last week, but it's for reals this time: Redskins tight end Jordan Reed is done for the year. The team placed him on injured reserve Thursday. Reed hasn't played since Week 11 due to a concussion, and head coach Mike Shanahan said a specialist examined Reed recently and recommended that he not practice for at least three more weeks. Reed's rookie season ends with 45 catches, 499 yards and three touchdowns.
Despite playing in just nine games and not really breaking out until Week 7, Reed finished inside the top 20 in yards and catches among tight ends. The 23-year-old has the athleticism and skills to be a major mismatch, and he has already displayed a pretty good chemistry with Robert Griffin III . Reed is a great hold in keeper and dynasty leagues who could spend years as a fantasy TE1.
