Raiders HC Dennis Allen wants QB Terrelle Pryor to fail, Pryor's agent says

Here's a fun one. Raiders head coach Dennis Allen announced Monday that he is turning back to Terrelle Pryor @TerrellePryor at starting quarterback for Sunday's game versus the Broncos. Some might have thought the Raiders were making the move to get one more look at the 24-year-old athlete in game action before the offseason. But Pryor's agent, Jerome Stanley, believes the real reason is much more malicious.
"I think they're putting him in hopes that [Pryor] fails," Stanley said to CSN Bay Area on Monday. "That's what I think coach is doing. I think they're putting him in hopes that he has a bad game, so he can then justify the Matt McGloin situation. I think that's what's going on, I do and it's ridiculous.
"You have to understand the coach is putting him in, he doesn't want him to look good. And you can write that. He doesn't want him to look good because, if he looks good this week, it makes the past five weeks look like a bad decision. (Allen) doesn't want him to look good, he wants him to look bad. That is what is going on."
Pryor last started in Week 10 and couldn't play in Week 11 due to a sprained MCL. McGloin stepped in, played well versus the Texans and had kept the starting job until now.

Fantasy Analysis:

There'sno fantasy takeaway here as nobody is going to start Pryor in a fantasy championship in Week 17. This is just a juicy bit that gives people something to talk about to help kill the time until Sunday. For what it's worth, Pryor was dreadful as a passer in four games leading up to his injury. The decision to stay with McGloin once Pryor returned to full strength was not crazy. I think the move back to Pryor at this late stage is more curious unless McGloin is hurt.
I selfishly hope Allen admits that Stanley's accusation was correct once he is fired shortly after the season, because the Raiders need to be dysfunctional at all times. It just seems to be who they are. Allen is about to go 4-12 in back-to-back seasons.
